What is it: The show is powered by pop, rock, soul, and original hit songs, blending vocals, keys, guitars, and beats, into a session of harmony, loops, and an infectious live creation. Lisa Goldin and Aston Wylie, the formidable duo from South Africa with a history of energy-packed performances in South America and Asia, will perform.


Neha Kakkar Live Concert

Where: Coca-Cola Arena, City Walk
When: October 8; proof of vaccination not required
Timings:  8pm
Tickets: Dh190 to Dh2,000

What is itAward-winning Bollywood playback singer Neha Kakkar will perform in City Walk. Her songs are chartbusters in the Indian film industry. She will be supported by artist Stebin Ben.


Social Knockout 2

Where: Coca-Cola Arena, City Walk
When: October 15; proof of vaccination not required
Timings: 7pm
Tickets: Dh200 to Dh900

What is it: The world-class fight night returns to Dubai with a stacked line-up of athletes. The event is set to make history with the first female fight between Saudi Arabian TV presenter Sarleena and Indian TikTok star Jumana Khan. Also making an appearance will be Emirati influencer Moneykicks (Rashed Belhasa), Indian social media sensation Ajmal Khan, and YouTuber Adam Saleh. Rapper and singer DaBaby will perform live in the UAE for the first time, along with star rapper, Giggs.


Alice in Wonderland

Where: Theatre on-board Queen Elizabeth (QE2), Port Rashid
When: October 7-9
Timings: 7pm; doors open 30 minutes before the show starts
Tickets: Dh96 to Dh180

What is it: Actors and performers from London’s West End will bring the classic tale to life on stage. Follow Alice on her astonishing escapades with iconic characters, as she has tea with the Mad Hatter, sees double with Tweedledum and Tweedledee, and comes face to face with the Queen of Hearts.


Rigoletto

Where: Dubai Opera
When: October 11 & 12; proof of vaccination not required
Timings: 8pm
Tickets: Dh300 onwards

What is it: A St. Petersburg Chamber Opera with the plot borrowed from “The King amuses himself”. The main character is an old world-hating, hunchback, court jester. The opera production is a different take on this psychological drama, where instead of being merely a hunchback, the court jester is a sarcastic, witty, and angry man. The St. Petersburg Opera is acknowledged among the best theatres in Russia.


Thanksgiving Dinner by CBC Dubai

Where: DoubleTree by Hilton Dubai, Bay Square 5, Business Bay
When: October 11
Timings: 6.30pm onwards
Tickets: Dh190 for members and guests, Dh60 for kids (aged 6-12 years); inclusive of non-alcoholic beverages

What is it:  Thanksgiving Feast and live music by Canadian Business Council (CBC) in Dubai and the Northern Emirates. The event will have a Juno-nominated Celtic band from Nova Scotia that will feature Canada’s best traditional players.


Al Habtoor Polo Academy Open Day 2021

Where: Al Habtoor Polo Resort & Club, Dubai Land
When: October 8
Timings: 4pm to 7pm
Tickets: Open day offers a free introductory session to registrants.

What is it:  A chance to step into the exciting world of polo, and explore the game dubbed as the ‘sport of the kings’. The state-of-the-art polo and equestrian facility is spread over six million square feet. There are four world-class polo fields, a polo academy, a riding school with a dedicated arena, and 520 modern stables.


Ski Dubai Ice Warrior Challenge

Where: Ski Dubai, Mall of the Emirates, Sheikh Zayed Road
When: October 8
Timings: 6.30am 8.15am
Tickets: Dh350 for elite group, Dh300 for regular groups

What is it: The toughest commando assault course in sub-zero temperatures. Expect to be challenged by monkey bar swings, tyre runs, and net crawls in minus four degrees. The challenge is open to anyone aged 15-60. This year, there is an exclusive category for ladies. Participants who complete the challenge will receive a medal.


Techspo Dubai 2021

Where: Hyatt Regency Dubai, Al Khaleej Road
When: October 12, 13
Timings: 11.30am onwards
Tickets: Free entry

What is it: Watch exhibitors showcase the next-gen advances in technology and innovation, including the Internet and Mobile.


NightSpot, Dubai Garden Glow

Where: Zabeel Park, Gate 6 & 7, Area B
Timings: 4pm to 11pm
Tickets: Dh50 per person; free for children aged three years and below. Free for differently-abled visitors.

What is it: Developed at a cost ofDh30 million, Dubai Garden Glow is one of the most spectacular places to visit at night. The 40-acre park features a variety of glow-in-the-dark art pieces. All displays have been made using recycled material. It is the world’s largest glow-in-the-dark garden with over 10 million energy-saving LED light bulbs. Dinosaur Park with 120 animatronic dinosaurs, Ice Park that contains a stunning assortment of beautiful ice sculptures, are the major attractions.
