This means that Dubai’s top sports facilities and academies run by international stars for various individual and team sports will, obviously, work for aspiring athletes and sports enthusiasts. Dubai My Second Home brings you the A-list of sports academies with the best-in-class facilities and your heroes as your trainers.

Whatever the sport, Dubai has top international sportspersons providing training to talented youngsters from around the world

1. G Force Cricket Academy
It is one of the oldest cricket academies in Dubai. The G Force Cricket Academy has three grounds – two in Dubai and one in Sharjah – with practice pitches as well as excellent indoor training facilities. The academy has 20 experienced coaches including visiting former international cricketers Graeme Smith, Ian Trott, and Jonty Rhodes.

2. Arsenal Soccer School
Former Arsenal midfielder Ian Selley is the head coach at Arsenal Soccer School, Dubai. More than 10,000 players of all levels and abilities have passed through its doors since its opening in 2009. In Ian’s words: “As coaches, we always like to develop the players to their best level and hopefully, one day, one of the guys will make it to the first team for Arsenal.”

3. AIS Athletics Academy
The AIS Athletics Academy is the leading track and field academy in the UAE. It operates from two main locations within Dubai. The coaching team consists of both UAE-based coaches and visiting UK-based coaches who provide event-specific coaching. All AIS coaches are current or former British Olympic/Team GB athletes with licences to coach in the UAE.

4. Dubai Tennis Academy
The academy was established by renowned coach Strath Sheriff. Dubai Tennis Academy offers a variety of programmes that can be personalised to suit individual requirements. It starts with the mini minors group of 4- to 7-year-olds and goes on until the players turn professional. Federer can be spotted using DTA facilities.

5. MS Dhoni Cricket Academy
MS Dhoni partnered with Dubai’s Kricket’s Spero cricket academy in December 2020 to bring his MSDCA brand to the UAE. The former Indian cricket captain’s MSDCA brand has existed in India since 2014. Former South African cricketer Daryl Cullinan serves as the director of MSDCA and wants the academy to be a world leader in mentoring players.
