Dubai most beautiful autumnal city in Middle East: Study

Instagram user-references make Dubai the most popular city in the Middle East during autumn

A new study names Dubai as the most beautiful autumnal city in the region. Instagram user-references make Dubai the most popular city in the Middle East during autumn (between November and March). The study by UK’s affordable hotel chain Premier Inn is based on the volume of references about autumn cities on Instagram.

In terms of hashtag references, Dubai stands far ahead of other regional cities such as Tehran, Kuwait, and Beirut.

The ‘autumn-city’ study

A spokesperson for Primer Inn said that the study was carried out with autumn as a subject because it’s the best season for travel. It made sense to explore Instagram references as the platform is an ideal place for people to discuss tourism destinations and vacations.

The observations were drawn based on the number of posts that used hashtags ‘#autumnin[city] and ‘#fallin[city]’, for 356 cities and towns, globally. Dubai drew 1,606 references, the highest for cities in the region, with the use of the hashtag #autumnin Dubai.

Comparisions were drawn for cities in the UK, the USA, Australia, New Zealand, Europe, Africa, South America, Asia, and the Middle East. The Premier Inn study observes that globally, New York, London, and Paris are the most hashtag-referred destinations.

Visit Dubai in autumn

Autumn is the coolest part of the year in Dubai, with temperatures ranging between 17°C and 30°C. November is pleasant, and towards December, evenings turn cooler. Occasionally, showers occur during this season. An important attraction, in January and February, is the Dubai Shopping Festival.

In November, the Dubai Design Week draws admirers. On December 2, the United Arab Emirates celebrates its Independence Day, an important date on the itinerary of tourists.

The month of December is also the part of the year when Dubai International Film Festival takes place. The new year celebration is a global attraction. During autumn, sports and musical events, too, draw in thousands of tourists.

Dubai is a favourite destination for international tourists

With vaccination drives accomplished, and international travel permitted, Dubai is expected to be the centre of attraction for international travellers. The United Nations Conference on Trade and Development expects ‘significant improvement’ in tourism for several destinations, during autumn.
